Monday, March 11, 2013 10:19 AM Hello Family!

So. Here's the low down. I'm going to send an email to the family every P-day that's for ALL of you, and whomever you may wish to share it with (by the way - feel free to edit it down according to whoever else will be reading it, because that's awkward). If you guys have any questions for me, put them in a response to this email. That way when I come to the lab to email, I'll have all the questions right here to answer, rather than having to compile them from all the different letters I get. You understand?

Mom - Did you figure out the blogging? If you could get those posted as soon as you can after I send them and then link them to my Facebook profile, that would legit rock. Thanks oodles for your help!

Also (again) - just for while I'm in the MTC, I'm just going to send all my pictures home by way of the memory card - downloading pictures at the MTC is a HUGE pain. So I'll send the card with the letter, you can download them, clear the card, and send it back to me. Yay!

Okay. So these are brief introductions to everyone in my distric. Just so you know. And because it's fun.

Sister Wendel
She is the best comp ever! We have OODLES of fun, and I just adore her. She's from Green River, Wyoming, which, from what I gather, is a teeny tiny little town. The only big issue I have with her (ha - totes kidding! We don't have issues. We live in paradise here) is that she has not seen ANY movies. Like, literally any. I've been compiling a list for her of movies to watch when she gets home. Lucky for me, the other sisters in the district get a lot of my quotes, so we're okay. She plays the piano and sings - so that's fun! We're, like, twinners!

Sister Pearson
Oh, Sister Pearson. She cracks me up. She's from Alberta Canada (eh). She is SO funny. Basically every thing she says makes me laugh. We were talking last night, and she was like, kazooing (I don't know how to describe it ... That was the best I could come up with), and I was like, "Dang! You are good!" so she said she was going to make a CD and give me a signed copy. Which led me to tell her the funny story about the Nacho Mamas and Mom not wanting a signed CD (I'm still offended, by the way) and she was like, "Let's go on tour together!" So basically we're going on tour, and it's going to rock. Sold out libraries. Everywhere. Get ready, family.

Sister Litdka
Pretty sure I spelled that wrong ... But anyways, she's from Washington (the Seattle area). She is SO nice. I adore her. She is really funny, too.

Sister Barth
Sister Barth is from Cedar City. She plays the violin (apparently REALLY well, because she's a music performance major at BYU).

Sister Blake
She is the nicest girl in the whole world. Legit. She is just so nice! And she is friends with EVERYONE. I kid you not. Every two seconds, we hear someone saying, "Sister Blake!" and running up and talking to her. She has approximately 80 million friends. I mean, we haven't counted or anything, but it's a pretty good guesss.

Elder Olson
Elder Olson is from Tooele (however that is spelled). He is REALLY insightful. Like, he always makes the most intelligent comments in class. And he's a really deep thinker. Also, he eats organic food. I just think that's weird. He's one of the ones going to England. And to answer your question, Dad - I'm pretty sure both Elder Olson and Elder Owens are both psyched to be going to England, even though we're all going to really miss them in Poland! But good news is, if we wanted to, we could write them since they'll be in a different mission from the rest of us. Silver lining, right?

Elder Owens
Funniest. Boy. In. The. Whole. World. He is so funny. Good heavens. He has four different pairs of glasses, and he's this tall, kinda gawky boy. But it's not even weird, it's just endearing. He always says the funniest things. Apparently he made some moola on YouTube, so look him up and tell me how funny his videos are! Just search Cody Raptor Owens. Seriously though. Look him up and tell me about them. We quote him a lot, because on the first or second day we were talking about sports, and he was like, "I don't DO baseball." It was SO funny! Now we say that about basically everything.

Elder Allen
Elder Allen is our district leader. He's super hilarious as well. Honestly, we just have the best and funniest elders! I love them all. He's from California. Can't remember where. And it doesn't even matter.

Elder Blom
He is the sweetest boy! He was telling us about his love life (we've been taking turns, which is silly, but it is what it is) and he was like, "Girls just don't like me." So all the girls were like, "Um, Starszy Blom. Stop it. You are awesome. Seriously!" He is the sweetest boy! It's ridiculous. So yesterday I told him about the Morp Fiasco of 2010 - just to make him realize he is NOT even pathetic, because I am the picture of pathetic - and he was like, "I'll beat him up for you." And I was like, "Yeah! Okay!" So apparently if I ever need a guy beat up, all I need to do is give him a call. We're friends now.

Elder Wolfley
He is the most adorabley awkward soul. We'll be having, like, a spiritual discussion, and then he'll just say something ridiculous, and we're all just like, "Oh Starszy Wolfely." You just have to love him for it. Also - he's my Jazz friend! I am SO HAPPY to have someone to talk Jazz with! It's the best. I fetching love it. And he has a friend who's keeping us informed (cough cough - you guys HAVE NOT BEEN KEEPING ME INFORMED - how's my Gordy doing???), so that's fun stuff! I love it. We were talking about the Hornets/Pelicans yesterday and laughing at them, and Elder Oleson was like, "Wait - do you like basketball?" And I was like, "OH yeah!" And he was like, "Oh. That's cool!" And I was like, "You know what? It totally is."

Elder Waskiowiec
He has ADHD, so he's basically always bouncing off the walls and saying random things. He's funny though. We like him.

Our teachers are Brother Stuart (not sure on the spelling of Stuart ... perhaps Stewart?) Tribe, Sister McAdams (not sure on her first name, sorry!), and Brother Stefan Leimer (he's from Germany! Slash he has PERFECT English because his mother is American). Feel free to Facebook stalk them. They are so good. I love them all. PS - Bro. Leimer was Arek, our fake investigater we were teaching. Just fyi. He's super attractive. He looks like Prince Phillip, except a real person, and he was blue eyes. But he's married, so it doesn't even need to be discussed. That's nice. Or whatever.

I'm not sure what else to say ...

Polish is coming along alright. It is REALLY freaking fetching hard. It's an inflective language, whice means the word order doesn't determine parts of speech - rather, you have to case the words (add prefixes and suffixes), that determine whether something is the subject or direct object or indirect object or all that jazz. It's super confusing. Like, oh my heck. It worries me big time. I love it, but it is SO HARD. We pray for the gift of tongues are basically EVERY SINGLE PRAYER any of us say, and I'm really hoping you guys are praying for it for us as well. Trust me. We need ALL the help we can get.

Yesterday we watched Legacy, and it was SUPER awesome. I love that movie so much. It made me SO grateful for my pioneer ancestors and for the amazing examples of faith they are.

Scripture fun! My new scripture hero is King Lamoni. I used to think the hero of the story was Ammon (and he is), but King Lamoni is a boss! Go and read the story of Ammon and focus on King Lamoni. He has SO MUCH FAITH! It is absolutely incredible. Like, for serious. He is so faithful and obedient. I love it.

I was telling some of the people in my distric that I'm related to Brigham Young (because they asked), and Starszy Blom was like, "Wait, you really are?" And I was like, "Yeah! For reals!" And he was like, "Oh my heck. You're like royalty!" And I was like, "Yeah, basically." It was super funny. I explained that it was through Mary Ann Angel (because that makes me feel special), and they were all in awe. Not gonna lie, I love being related to Brigham Young. It is the coolest. Just knowing that I come from such a strong background and that my family has so much faith - it rocks.

Love you all! I'm writing letters later this afternoon, so look for them!

MOM - Thanks for the stamps! I really needed them. You are the best! Also, PLEASE send my Polish bible and my skirt!

Much love!
Siostra Young
